Potato hiller

potato hiller

As the name suggests the hiller was used to automate the hilling of growing potatoes. If you have several acres of potatoes this could be an important savings in labour. You can see from the image the centre disk that allows the farmer to set the width of the blades so that the loose soil would be pushed both ways onto the plants on either side.
