Inventory: Horse barn

Equipment currently located outside or inside of the large barn and walkthrough space

big barn loft

viewed east to west

dowel and tennor detail

of cross and support beams in the loft

long view of jackson forks

mounted on ridge rail, the forks could pick up a load of hay in the middle and then deliver it to any part of the barn

close up view of the jackson forks

the short rope would have been part of the trip rope with other ropes used to haul the load in either direction

to contents

early 1900s pipe wrenches

located on shelving in east section of the big barn

walking plow

basically complete, in reasonably good shape

punge or manue spreader

not in good shape with a range of parts and some metal artifacts

to contents

sorghum chopper

we are seeing the output view, the stalks would be fed from the other side, this needs a better photo, all mechanicals appear to be in place, perhaps it was used for cracking corn for stock?

mangle chopper

mangles were large, turnip family vegetables grown to be fed to cattle, not in good shape but all parts appear to be there

sod cutter and potato digger

both in reasonably good shape, need to pull out for better photos

potato digger handle

the metal "runners" on each side were attached to all walking implements, at the end of a row the implement would be pulled out, tipped on its side to slide on these "runners" until lined up again to go back down the next row

hand cranked forge

possibly pre 1940s but not likely part of Boyd time frame, however the forge tools are all hand forged and possibly much older
