Still cold_ wind North _

The river nearly blocked up with ice_
Sunday 3
Sent two men up the north river to look for King Posts for the Fort_ Douliet commenced rooting but those of the old Fort, which being cedar, are out little decayed

Snowed a little during the last night_

Nothing particular_ The weather more moderate
Wednesday 6
Last night Lolo returned, but with not more than a dozen Skins, & his horses much jaded_ Lefleure & Cammille hauling out King Posts to the water side at the first point above on the north side

Weather quite mild_ being destitute of grease we Killed a fat cow this morning
Friday 8
Two Indians arrived from the direction of Salmon river with about thirty martens, which they disposed of for clouthing and request us to send to their Lodge a few articles say ammunition & blankets to trade the furs of other Indians there who from some cause unexplained, are unable to come to the Fort.

Weather as yesterday Two men hauling Fort pickets to the house_ Two hauling fire wood & two dressing plank.

Work as yesterday_ Sent Lolo with two Ind.ns off to the Ind.ns of Salmon river. Weather mild_

Men empd as before_ Nichola arrived the first time he has made his appearance since our return here with the Summer Brigade_

Pleasant weather_ Nichola handed in ten beaver Skins to day, saying that he wanted a full grown mare, which was refused unless he added ten Skins more to those he had just given, which is the price of a mare of the description he wanted, upon which he took his furs & walked off.

Weather very mild for the season_ Lefleure finished hauling out his posts from the woods_ Favel making a window & Fallerdeau a ladder for the garret in the Store_ New lad attends the Cows_

All hands rafting down King Posts_ Nichola after giving his furs to Lolo's wife went off without taking leave as usual
Monday 18
Lolo arrived with about thirty Skins, and a young maron belonging to New Caledonia which had been left on the way by the Brigade coming in_
