The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen, formed in
1966, extends from Summerland in the north, to Osoyoos in the south, and
Princeton in the west. Other municipalities included within the District are:
Penticton, Keremeos and Oliver. There are eight electoral areas which, in
addition to the rural areas, include the unincorporated communities of
Coalmont, Cawston, Hedley, Kaleden, Naramata, Okanagan Falls, Olalla and
Tulameen. |

1940, joined and provided fire protection to the Keremeos Irrigation District
in 1962. In 1976, the Fire Department joined the Regional District of
