Thomas H. McCubbin

Thomas H. McCubbin was recognized by all the people of Pacific as a person who had many diverse activities and responsibilities. He arrived with his wife Elizabeth and son in 1913 off the Grand Trunk Pacific. He built a life for his family by opening up the general store, where they were also able to sleep. Mr. McCubbin accomplished many things in Pacific; “he became postmaster, justice of the peace, mining recorder, chairman of the school board, notary public, and the man who would grubstake a hungry prospector in the hungry thirties” (The Smithers Interior News: 1977).
