Nels Thomson

Nels Thomson was one of the very first pioneers of Pacific; he owned most of the property out in Pacific, besides the property that the railway owned, and was the last living resident out in Pacific. He passed away in the early 1970s in Terrace. Nels lived in a very small building, which was known as the “pool hall”. Nels and others from Pacific had lots of fun playing 24 hour poker games on a regular occasion at his residence. Nels Thompson also built the community hall, where many social activities went on, including Christmas concerts which people from Dorreen and Usk would attend.
