Five-Acre Garden Tracts, Opposite Usk, BC
On the Main Line of the Grand Trunk Pacific R.R.

"On the main line of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, is the station of Usk, named on account of its situation, being almost a replica of the little town of Usk in Wales, and known far and wide by its famous old 'Castle of Usk.'"

"There is much land in the Skeena that can be developed, but the percentage of land which is heavy in sand and gravel makes the few spots of river silt land high enough to be out of danger of floods, additionally valuable."

"No water is necessary for irrigation and there is ample water for household purposes."

"The land can be cleared, ready for the plow, for an average of $65.00 per acre, and the same land cleared would find ready sale at $200.00 to $250.00 per acre when the quality of the soil is taken into consideration and it is known that all kinds of root vegetables grow to perfection, and apples, cherries, prunes and plums ripen early.... strawberries are especially prolific and for size and flavour cannot be excelled."

"In order to attract a desirable class of settlers, a Company, being formed and to be known as the 'Usk Land and Industrial Co. Ltd.,' will subdivide a small tourist townsite on the railway side opposite this land, and will establish at their earliest opportunity a very cozy little hotel of some 30 rooms, together with summer cottages, also an assembly hall, a bowling alley, library, general store and a small saw mill."

"The hotel will occupy an entire block of the townsite facing the railway, and same will be laid out in green lawns and flower gardens, where a tennis court and croquet grounds will add to the attractions of the place and where people from the Coast terminal of the Grand Trunk Pacific , Prince Rupert, can find enjoyment in a week-end run during the summer season."

"The Government have established a route, commencing at the Station of Usk, by public ferry to the opposite side, through this property, along most beautiful environments to Gold Creek, which is cross and continued via the Skeena River to Copper River where a substantial bridge has been erected, and to Copper City, from there to the wonderful Hot Springs of Lakelse... and it is the intention of the Company to run a daily motor during the season from Usk to the Hot Springs as soon as all the roads are in shape to handle the traffic, after the rails are connected, which will be early in 1915."

"The price to each and all is $100.00 per acre, payable as follows: $125.00 cash and the balance $25.00 every three months, with interest at 7% unless fully paid in 2 years..."

"Transportation: S.S. fare from Vancouver to Prince Rupert amounts to $18.00 first class, including meals and berth, and from Prince Rupert by train to Usk, $4.30... A public ferry is being built to be used in crossing from Usk to this property, no charge..."
