Charles and Emma Lindstrom Charles Lindstrom came from Sweden, first arriving in New York. After some travel across the United States he arrived in Prince Rupert in 1907. He settled at Remo in the following year, where he caught the eye of both Bateman daughters. In 1909 Charles Lindstrom married Emma Bateman at Kitsumkalum. After they married, they bought part of Emma's father's pre-emption and built a home for themselves. Emma Lindstrom became postmistress in 1940 and remained postmistress until the post office closed in 1960. Charles and Emma Lindstrom had six children: three sons- Charles, Otto, and Bill and three daughters – Claire, Helen, and Marie. |
