Introduction

Carmen Henry-Stewart and Sean Stewart are both Students at Northwest Community College. Carmen is enrolled in the University Transfer Program for Education. She is Tsimshian, with many of her family still living in Lax Kw'alaams, north of Prince Rupert, BC. Sean is enrolled in the Aboriginal Teaching Education Bridging Program. He is Nisga'a, and has returned to the Northwest after being raised in Vancouver.

Both Carmen and Sean completed this project in order to learn about their cultures and history. Sean also benefited from meeting many members of his extended family during his research. They both look forward to sharing the information they have learned with their children, classmates and other people in their communities.

Nass Oolichan Photos - A selection of photos taken by Myles Stewart. These photos demonstrate Myles' participation in the annual oolichan fishery at Fishery Bay.
