The Story of the X-L Ranch

Table of Contents

Lynda was groomed to be a rancher's daughter from the time she was small. Photographs show her perched on the farm implements and on horseback before she could walk.

Once she was old enough to toddle around, photos show her looking after animals or with her father in the fields.

As she grew, her responsibilities on the ranch increased and her father depended on her help.

She stayed with her aunt during the week so she could catch the bus to the same school her father attended. She worked on the ranch after school and after graduation haying, chasing cows on horseback, and piling bales. "She did everything.

She did a lot better than I did. She was a home-loving heart," says Mary. "She didn't want to leave.

Mary may not have been much of a rancher's wife, but Lynda was groomed to be a rancher's  daughter from the time she was small.
