Archaeological Investigations at the Salmon Beds

Public Education Program 

The site was visited by over 200 school children from elementary schools in Windermere, Invermere and Edgewater.  High school students from grades 10 and 11 biology and earth sciences classes also visited the site.  Additional interpretation of First Nations plant use was presented by Lillian Rose of the Columbia Lakes First Nation and by Laverna Stevens of the Shuswap First Nation.  The Friends of Kootenay National Park supported the public interpretation program.
