This project was a contribution to Living Landscapes: Columbia Basin, a project jointly supported by the Royal B.C. Museum and the Columbia Basin Trust.

Dr Peter Newroth (RBCM) provided many valuable suggestions while the document was being drafted, and Jason Ladell (University of BC, Zoology) and Steve McAdam (B.C. Ministry of Fisheries) kindly reviewed the content. Jason Ladell also provided specimens and assistance during field collections. Kelly Sendall (RBCM) provided easy access to specimens and data records, while David Blades (RBCM) made himself available for computing inquires.

The text was edited by Tara Steigenberger (RBCM), who also produced the HTML version of this paper. Andrew Niemann (RBCM) and Tracy Coyle (RBCM) provided image and multimedia support. Frederike Verspoor (RBCM) and Susan Hansbury (RBCM) provided assistance obtaining reference literature from the RBCM Library. Heather Stewart (RBCM) was of great help with mapping applications.

Albert Chirico (B.C. Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks: MELP) provided regional collecting permits on short notice, and Ted Antifeau (MELP) provided local knowledge of some of the rare and endangered sculpin species. Syd Cannings (B.C. Conservation Data Centre) and Juanita Ptolemy (MELP) kindly provided up-to-date information concerning the conservation status of B.C.'s freshwater fish species.

Dr J.D. McPhail (University of BC, Zoology) made his knowledge of 'Made in B.C. fish Diversity' available during the writing of this document, and provided access to the UBC Ichthyological collections. Gordon Haas (B.C. Ministry of Fisheries) and Joel Sawada were helpful with obscure literature sources and were always willing to help.

Dr Alex Peden (Liparis Consulting) was instrumental in the collection and identification of the majority of specimens in the RBCM collections during his long appointment as the RBCM Ichthyologist. Dr Peden's knowledge and detailed expertise can be acknowledged, but never be repaid.
