Doll Instructions

Store bought toys were rare for Doukhobor children. Some children had simple hand made dolls. To make the doll you will need:

A piece of fabric approximately 13 inches X 11 inches
A piece of string
Pencil crayons (optional)

1) Roll fabric from both ends to the centre
2) When you meet, fold over about 1/3 to make the head and arms
3) Fold arms out and pull forward
4) Optional: use moistened pencil crayons to make face
5) Small pieces of fabric may be cut to make an apron and a shawl to tile around the doll.
